Music Specialist

Heidi Pyper is a long-time veteran of both concert hall and the stage and is a frequent vocal soloist in the community. She has been directing choirs since High School and is currently the lead director of the Upper Valley Women's Choir. Heidi holds a degree in choral music education and has taught private voice students for over thirty years, and lately has enjoyed directing pit orchestras for Rexburg Community Theatre productions.

Heidi began working for the City of Rexburg as the Cultural Arts Music Specialist in February of 2024 and loves helping to showcase and channel all the amazing music talent in Rexburg. Heidi is the proud curator of a neighborhood tiny library and also enjoys writing, fitness, traveling, and reading. She and her physics professor husband Brian have four children and one granddog.

Visual Art Specialist

Twyla Mahelona is an artist who found her passion for creating halfway through college. She graduated school with a Bachelor's in art and has loved the adventures that being an artist has led her on ever since! Her work experience has included everything from private home murals, to partnering with communities, schools, libraries, business events, private art studios (and even zoos!) to teach and facilitate art and creative experiences.

Most recently she has teamed up here with the city to teach and facilitate art and meditation experiences. She is a firm believer in facilitating experiences that spark joy and allow creators of all levels to come and experience creation through a variety of experiences and processes. Her hope is to see Rexburg become a place where creative exploration and expression thrives and enhances the community as a whole.
